Our team of Engagement Interns work together to be friends and guides for those who want to find their way into the Hillel community and don’t know how.
You may already know them and if you don't they are happy to meet you. These students reach out and get to know fellow students on campus who are looking to do something Jewish and aren't sure what that means.
David is a third year from Berkeley, California, studying economics and computer science. On campus, he works at the front desk of the Reg and is involved in the Tamid business club. He enjoy playing sports, hiking, and finding good places to eat. David is looking forward to being a Hillel intern this year, and being more involved in the Jewish community next year.
Vicki is a rising second year from the northern suburbs of Chicago looking to pursue a degree in public policy and global studies. Outside of Hillel, she works at the Smart Museum and is involved in Women in Law and Kappa Alpha Theta. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, watching documentaries and drinking excessive amounts of coffee. Vicki is so excited to join the Hillel community this year as an Engagement Intern!
Elli is a second year in the College from Boston, Massachusetts. She is a History major and Human Rights minor. On campus, she is additionally involved with Debate It Forward, the South Side Weekly, and Delta Gamma. Outside of the classroom, you can find her exploring museums in Chicago (her favorites being the Art Institute and the MCA, and on campus the Smart Museum) and "coffee dating" her friends at Plein Air and Ex Libris. She is so excited to get more involved with Hillel this year and to get to know more of the amazing Jewish students on campus!
Ben Gerhardt has been playing violin since he was 4 years old and has been studying Philosophy since senior year of High School. He is an avid chef that loves music, movies, and anything science fiction! Ben can't wait to get to know you!
Jonah Kaye is a rising second year from LA maybe majoring in biochemistry. Jonah is really into Brazilian Jui Jitsu, learning Torah, and spending time with friends. He loves meeting new people and is excited to be an engagement intern!
Maddie is a second year Anthropology and Pub Pol major from the DC area, minoring in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Around campus, she's the Publicity Chair and a soprano in Motet Choir, plays in the Piano Performance Program, and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Maddie is so excited to be a bigger part of the Hillel community this year!
