Creative Early Childhood Educator Needed
The Jewish Enrichment Center seeks an experienced early childhood educator to work with our nursery children.
The Jewish Enrichment Center is a place where children can play and explore Judaism in ways they want, with materials that spark imaginations. It’s a Sunday and after school program that fosters friendship, curiosity, critical thinking, and empathy.
Our long-term projects let children express their ideas about Judaism in clay, conversation, blocks, dance, and a hundred other “languages,” as part of the long tradition of Jewish conversation. All Jewish children are welcome and valued at the Jewish Enrichment Center – unaffiliated, congregational, and day school families alike.
The Jewish Enrichment Center is known for our extraordinary text-based children’s Jewish enrichment and outstanding educator collaboration. Educators come from many parts of the Jewish community and value multiple approaches to Judaism and Jewish life. Ideal candidates are highly creative, passionate about learning, work well on a team, love a good challenge, and are flexible risk-takers who hold themselves to high standards.
Over 10 hours/week are devoted to professional development and collaboration, exploring Jewish texts and ideas, and deepening our design and communication skills for partnering with children and families in powerful, lasting Jewish experiences.
The Jewish Enrichment Center hosts sessions for infants through 5th grade children on Sundays and after school. Our approach incorporates long-term, project-based exploration, principles from the Reggio approach to early childhood learning, and attention to children’s social emotional growth within Jewish community. We empower children to be co-creators of their educational experiences and leaders in the ongoing Jewish conversation through the centuries.
Hours onsite include Sunday mornings and weekday afternoons (Mon. - Thurs.). Part-time and full-time positions available.
